Half Term offer at the Tower of London

If you’re planning to take the kids to London this half-term, you won’t be short of interesting and exciting places to visit. The top two activities are a trip on the River Thames and a visit to the Tower of London. See below for our money-off package special offer.

The Tower of London has more than enough going on to keep the whole family entertained for hours, so after a relaxing cruise from Westminster Pier, raise the energy levels by exploring everything on offer.

Activity Trails for children

Pick up a copy of the Tower’s free Activity Trail at the Welcome Centre to help the whole family explore the Tower by using fun quizzes and activities.

Yeoman Warder ‘Beefeater’ Tours

The Tower’s hugely entertaining ‘Beefeater’ tours begin every 30 minutes and last around an hour. The Yeoman Warders have plenty of tales to tell about the 900 year horrible history of the Tower of London!

Time Explorers at Historical Royal Palaces in London

Historic Royal Palaces have developed a free Time Explorers app which offers your kids three different ‘secret missions’ to undertake whilst you’re at the Tower. By exploring the area in question, they can answer the questions correctly and succeed in their mission!

Half Term Activities at the Tower of London

In addition to the normal activities, at half term, there are even more to get the kids involved with:

Conquest at the Tower of London!

Every day between 11th and 19th February, spend half an hour defending the Tower against medieval attackers. The Tower’s guards will need as much help as possible to help them keep out Yorkists, siege engines and revolting peasants. Enemy attack times begin at 12 noon, 1.30pm and 3.30pm.

Story Scramble at the Tower of London

Aimed at 7-14 year olds, the Story Scramble is designed to tell the stories of people in the Tower in times of war. Between 11 and 3.30pm, you can meet the characters and touch the objects they used to help put together their stories.

BBC Radio 2’s 500 Words competition

If the stories at the Tower have inspired your 5-13 year olds to write stories of their own, get them to enter BBC Radio 2’s 500 Words competition. Stories can be about anything, but as the grand final will be held at the Tower of London on 16th June, your kids might want to use it for inspiration. The official Tower of London website has lots of information and even short videos which may help. The closing date to enter the competition is 23rd February.

Combine your trip to the Tower with a Thames cruise from Westminster Pier

In the olden days, prisoners were taken to the Tower by boat, so why not complete your experience by doing the same, thankfully these days, river cruises to the Tower of London are much more fun than they were back then!

This half term you can save even more money – we’ve chopped a massive 50% off the cost of your cruise tickets when you book our Tower of London package. Our cruise to the Tower of London departs daily from Westminster Pier.
