July Highlights (from mid-month)

  • Saturday 12 JulyKidbrooke Carnival & Nigerian Cultural Festival
    Expect vibrant parades, drumming, street food and Afrobeat dance-offs in Pegler Square and Cator Park. Delivered by TARU Arts and Black Female Entrepreneur Greenwich (BFEG).
  • Sunday 13 JulyAfrican Masquerade & “Give or Take” workshops
    Bostall Gardens
    hosts a lively African carnival, while The Bold Melon Collective offer LGBTQIA+ family-friendly collage and performance art sessions.
  • Monday 14 July to Sunday 10 AugustQueer Migrations Exhibition
    Visit Firepit Arts Gallery in Greenwich for this striking multimedia exhibition, exploring identity, migration and queer experience.
  • Thursday 17 JulyQueer Migrations Launch Evening
    From 7 to 9 pm: live music, artist talks and community celebration to kick off the Queer Migrations exhibition.
  • Saturday 26 JulyGreenwich Food Festival
    Head to Glyndon Community Centre & Green, Plumstead for street food, family cooking competitions, wellness workshops and more.

August Highlights

The festivities continue throughout August, showcasing cultural depth and creative diversity:

  • Saturdays 2, 9 and 16 AugustNigerian Cultural Finesse (Arc & You)
    Held in Kidbrooke (Highbrook Road Open Space), Middle Park, and Felixstowe Road Green, each event (12–6 pm) features traditional dance, music, fashion, storytelling and the premiere of a new Nigerian-British documentary.
  • Friday 22 AugustGDIF: “Above and Beyond” Opening Night
    At Beresford Square, Woolwich (7 pm), don’t miss jaw-dropping parkour from French collective Cie Lézards Bleus, with music by Roma Yagnik and the Citizens of the World Choir.
  • Saturday 23 & Sunday 24 AugustGDIF: Greenwich Fair
    Enjoy an unmissable weekend of free outdoor arts, theatre, circus, storytelling and family activities across Greenwich Park and Observatory Hill.
