The Thames River Sightseeing 1-Day River Pass + 1 Day Free Hop On Hop Off route stops at six of the city’s most popular riverside locations, providing seamless travel directly between major London landmarks:

Yes. Always confirm with ticket office or crew as to the time of the last boat.

It depends on the route chosen. Please see below the different routes and times:

Westminster Pier to Greenwich Pier one-way takes 1 hour

Westminster Pier to Tower Bridge (Butler’s Wharf Pier) one-way takes 30-40 minutes

Tower Bridge (Butler’s Wharf Pier) to Greenwich Pier single takes 30-40 minutes

We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before your scheduled departure. London transport can be busy, so if you are planning your route to the piers via Tube or bus, you can review our London Journey Planner.

A direct voyage from Westminster Pier to Greenwich Pier takes approximately 60 minutes. While public transport like the London Underground (the Tube) may move faster through subterranean tunnels, a Thames River Sightseeing cruise offers a scenic, stress-free alternative. Instead of navigating crowded train stations, our hop-on hop-off passes allow you to travel comfortably above ground with unobstructed 360-degree views of London’s skyline.

We offer two main flexible ticket options designed to fit your sightseeing schedule without locking you into a strict timetable:

  • 1-Day River Pass + 1 Day Free | Hop On Hop Off: Our most popular option includes a second consecutive day entirely free. This “1-Day Pass + 1-Day Free” ticket gives you 48 hours of unlimited hop-on hop-off travel across all six of our piers.
  • The Flexible One-Way Cruise: Perfect for a single journey between any of our piers (such as Westminster to Greenwich). You only select the travel date when booking, allowing you to board any scheduled departure that day rather than being tied to a specific hour.

Both options make exploring the Thames incredibly easy and cost-effective compared to rigid, fixed-time tours.

No, Transport for London (TfL) Oyster Cards and contactless payment cards cannot be used directly at our boarding gates, as Thames River Sightseeing operates specialized tourist sightseeing voyages rather than commuter public transit. To secure the best rates, we recommend booking your hop-on hop-off river passes in advance online via our website.

It depends on the ticket type you select. For standard single or return tickets, you will choose a specific departure time during booking. However, if you want complete flexibility, we offer two open-schedule options where you only choose your travel date, not a specific hour:

This flexibility makes our passes an excellent alternative to rigid, fixed-schedule tours or formal dining cruises in London.
