Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern all bookings, ticket purchases, and services provided by Thames River Sightseeing (“TRS”), including those made online, via the ticket office, or through other official TRS channels. By using TRS services, passengers agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions.
1. Privacy and Data Protection
1.1 TRS is committed to protecting your personal data and ensuring compliance with all applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1.2 Any personal data collected, stored, or processed by TRS is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available on our website.
1.3 By using TRS services, passengers agree to the collection and use of their personal data as outlined in the Privacy Policy.
2. Operating Hours and Services
2.1 TRS operates year-round, except on the 24th, 25th, and 26th of December, and the 1st of January.
2.2 Departure times and routes are subject to change without prior notice. Passengers are advised to check the timetable on the TRS website for the most up-to-date information.
2.3 TRS services operate in all weather conditions. However, TRS reserves the right to cancel or modify services due to extreme weather, operational issues, or unforeseen circumstances. Passengers with pre-booked tickets will be notified of any changes.
3. Ticketing and Payments
3.1 All tickets must be paid in full at the time of booking. Payments can be made using a valid credit or debit card or PayPal for online bookings. At the ticket office, we accept both card and cash payments. Please note that TRS does not accept payments by BACs (bank transfer) or cheque.
3.2 Tickets are non-transferable and valid only for the date specified at the time of booking.
3.3 E-tickets are recommended and accepted. Passengers must present either a valid e-ticket or a printed ticket for inspection during boarding.
3.4 Tickets can be rescheduled free of charge before the trip date, subject to availability. Rescheduling requests must be made via the TRS booking platform or by contacting TRS directly.
3.5 Gift vouchers must be redeemed online by entering the voucher code at checkout.
3.6 Promotional offers are valid only as stated and cannot be combined with other discounts or promotions.
4. Ticket Types
4.1 Adult: For individuals aged 16 years and older.
4.2 Child: Children under 5 years old travel for free and do not require a ticket. However, if booking online, a free infant ticket can be selected at checkout.
4.3 Senior: For individuals aged 60 years and older (only available at the ticket office).
4.4 Student: For individuals with a valid student identity card, which must be presented upon boarding. Student tickets are only available at the ticket office.
4.5 Family: For 2 adults and up to 3 children.
5. Rescheduling, Cancellation, and Refund Policy
5.1 Free cancellation is available up to 24 hours before the scheduled trip. Cancellations made within 24 hours of departure are non-refundable.
5.2 Passengers may reschedule their booking at no additional cost up to the departure date, subject to availability.

5.3 If a service is cancelled by TRS, passengers will be offered the choice of a full refund or the option to reschedule their trip at no additional cost.

5.4 Refund requests made within 24 hours of the trip or after the cruise has taken place will not be eligible for a refund, except in exceptional circumstances (e.g., illness, force majeure) and at the sole discretion of TRS. Any such refunds will be considered fairly, without prejudice.

5.5 Requests for refunds must be submitted in writing to bookings@thamesriversightseeing.com within 28 days of the date of the trip. To process the request, passengers must provide:

  • A valid reason for the refund request, and

  • A reference number or a copy of the ticket.
    Requests submitted after 28 days will
    not be considered, except in exceptional circumstances, which must be supported with appropriate evidence (e.g., medical certificate).

5.6 Cancellation or amendment requests must be submitted via the TRS booking platform or by contacting TRS directly.
6. Accessibility
6.1 Not all TRS vessels are wheelchair accessible. Passengers requiring accessibility assistance may need to wait for an appropriate vessel.
6.2 Electric wheelchairs are not permitted on board due to vessel design constraints.

6.3 TRS offers a 50% discount for Freedom Pass holders, wheelchair users, and disabled passengers with a valid disability badge. A 50% discount is also available for one carer per disabled passenger. These discounts apply to regular adult and child tickets but not to the Family Pass, as it is already discounted.

6.4 The 50% discount is available at the ticket office. To purchase discounted tickets in advance, email bookings@thamesriversightseeing.com at least 72 hours before the trip with proof of disability to receive a unique promo code for online checkout.

7. Group Bookings

7.1 Groups consist of 15 or more passengers and qualify for a 15% discount.

7.2 Group tickets for up to 50 passengers can be purchased online. For larger groups, please contact TRS directly.

7.3 School groups receive a 15% discount on adult, child, and student tickets, plus one free teacher ticket for every 15 students.

7.4 The full balance for group bookings must be paid at least 7 days before the trip. At this point, all group numbers are final.

  • Failure to pay within this timeframe may result in cancellation of the booking and release of the reserved availability.

  • Increases in group size after this deadline may be accommodated, subject to availability and payment for the additional passengers.

7.5 For group bookings confirmed less than 7 days before the trip, full payment must be made at least 24 hours before departure.

7.6 Payments must be made via debit or credit card only. TRS does not accept payments by BACs or cheque.

7.7 Free cancellation for group bookings is available up to 24 hours before departure. No-shows will incur a 100% charge.

8. Route Information
8.1 Travel times between piers are approximate and may vary due to weather, river traffic, or operational delays.
8.2 Stops along the route include Westminster Pier, Embankment Pier, Festival Pier, Bankside Pier, Tower Bridge (Butler’s Wharf Pier), and Greenwich Pier. Some piers may be temporarily closed without prior notice.
8.3 TRS reserves the right to amend routes or schedules due to operational requirements or unforeseen circumstances.
9. Lost Property
9.1 Passengers are responsible for their personal belongings. TRS accepts no liability for lost, stolen, or damaged items.

9.2 Lost items found on board will be stored at Westminster Pier. To enquire about lost property, email info@thamesriversightseeing.com with a description of the item and details of your trip.

10. Private Hire
10.1 TRS vessels are available for private hire through its partner companies: Crown River Cruises, Westminster Party Boats, and Viscount Cruises.

11. Liability
11.1 TRS is not liable for personal injury, loss, or damage to property unless caused by the negligence of TRS or its staff.
11.2 Passengers assume all risks associated with river travel, including weather-related disruptions or delays.
